Krishnagiri: The establishment of a new office complex for Krishnagiri district coming up at Bynapalli on the NH-7 at a cost of Rs.10 crore is nearing completion.

The complex would accommodate offices of the District Collector, Superintendent of Police and various other departments, which are now functioning at the Government Polytechnic College on Chennai NH.

The three-storeyed building would have three conference rooms and two halls with modern acoustics.

A lawn has been created in front of the complex to provide a better ambience. Adequate drinking water facilities and toilets have been provided in the new complex.

The construction of Collector’s bungalow and circuit house has already been completed. The foundation-stone for the District Police Office is expected to be laid shortly.

With the new integrated bus stand coming up at Londonpet, the Collectorate would be easily accessible to people from all parts of the district.

The district administration has prepared a proposal for Rs.2.5 crore to provide excellent interiors and furniture in the complex and has been sent to the Government for approval, Collector Santhosh Babu told The Hindu.

For the first time in the State, the Collectorate complex in Krishnagiri would have ergonometric workstations for officers and government staff as in the private sector. As the e-district proposal has been sanctioned for Krishnagiri every staff would be provided with computers connected through a Local Area Network thus enabling less paper administration, he said.

The Collectorate is slated for inauguration shortly, Mr. Babu added.
