Special teams to nab extremists
Staff Reporter
DINDIGUL: Special teams have been formed to nab extremists hiding in the Kodaikanal and Periyakulam forest ranges, according to sources in the district police office.
A meeting presided over by Additional Director General of Police K. Vijay Kumar was held here on Saturday. A 108-member team, including four Additional Superintendents of Police, four Deputy Superintendents of Police, 15 Inspectors and 25 Sub-Inspectors and Special Task Force personnel, has been formed to intensify combing operation. Later, talking to mediapersons, Mr. Vijay Kumar ruled out the possibility of the extremists having established a ‘training centre’ near Muruganmalai. “It is not an ideal place for it.” Superintendent of Police A. Pari and Additional Superintendent of Police Thirunavukkarasar were present.
Earlier, the ADGP went to Pannaikadu and Kodaikanal and assessed the combing operation.
