Richards, Webb set year’s bests

SAINT-DENIS (France): Sanya Richards set a season’s best time of 49.52 seconds in the women’s 400 meters and Alan Webb ran the fastest 1,500m of 2007, while Olympic champion and World record-holder, Liu Xiang of China, was beaten by Dayron Robles of Cuba in the men’s 110m hurdles at the Gaz de France athletics meet on Friday.

Liu finished third in 13.15s.

Richards eclipsed the previous best of 49.64s by DeeDee Trotter at the U.S. Championships on June 23.
