AIADMK calls off protest

Chennai: The AIADMK has called off its protest demonstrations, scheduled for Monday, outside the Theni, Kanyakumari and Vellore medical colleges, according to party general secretary Jayalalithaa.

Terming the Union Health Ministry’s move to restore the sanctioned strength of 300 seats in the three colleges a victory for the AIADMK’s efforts, she said in a statement here on Saturday that her party would continue to fight for the rights of the people of Tamil Nadu.
