Enticing women: A bathtub-cum-jacuzzi is one of the attractions at the Citi Women’s Expo in Chennai.
CHENNAI: The wide range of electronic goods and kitchen appliances available at discounted prices at the 110 stalls set up at the ‘Citi Women’s Expo’ should be worth the trip to Nandambakkam. At the exhibition and sale that opened on Friday at the Chennai Trade Centre the idea was to cater to women in the 6 to 60 age group, said Rakesh V. Agarwal, Chairperson of Citi Events, the organising body. The range of goods on display vary from fancy bindis to a bathtub-cum-jacuzzi fitted with a mini LCD screen to watch videos while you soak up the bubbles. Le Forte Dental Studio does tooth jewellery on-the-spot, a ten-minute procedure. Afton has a stall with fitness equipment, mainly treadmills, on display. 1st Step, a label that deals in everything baby-related, launched its websites www.1stepworld.com or www.maaursishu.com at the exhibition. The expo is on from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. till July 8. One of the unique aspects of the exhibition was the selection of the chief guest for the inauguration. It was done through a lucky draw of the ticket counterfoils of the first few customers. This, according to Mr. Agarwal, was to show that all women were special.
