TRANSFER OF POWER: Christ Nagar Senior Secondary School, Thiruvallam, Principal Mathew Thengumpally handing over the ‘golden key’ to the student principal in the school.
Thiruvananthapuram: It was a day off for the teachers at Christ Nagar Senior Secondary School, Thiruvallam, on Thursday last as students took over the reins as part of the ‘Students Day’ celebration in the school. They handled classes and administration with equal aplomb. The day began with Principal, Mathew Thengumpally, handing over the ‘golden key’ during the morning assembly to student principal, Sreedhanya M. Unnithan, symbolising the transfer of power for a day to the students. The student principal then declared the theme of this year’s Student’s Day as ‘igniting young minds.’ Some of the student ‘teachers’ displayed great creativity and innovative teaching methods while handling classes. The entire day’s performance was monitored and evaluated by a panel of teachers. The day ended with prizes being awarded to the best student teacher in each section.
