Contractor killed

A building contractor, D. Muthukaruppan (42), was killed on the spot when he was hit by a brick-laden lorry on Tirupparankundram Road at Andalpuram on Saturday.

The police said the deceased was riding his two-wheeler towards Tirupparankundram when the lorry hit him from behind near the spot where two girls were run over by a bus on Friday. The lorry driver, P. Ganesan (29) , of Silaiman, surrendered before the police. The Karimedu traffic investigation wing police have registered a case. — Special Correspondent
