B.E. students can clear their arrear papers

Staff Reporter

MADURAI: The Syndicate of Madurai Kamaraj University has approved the proposal of permitting old students of 4-year B.E. and part-time B.E degree courses to clear their ‘arrear papers.’

In a press release on Thursday, the Controller of Examinations, S. Shanmughiah, said that the university would permit those students who were now keen on clearing their examinations in the B.E degree course.

Students whose transitory provision was over in 1993 will have to pay a penalty of Rs.7,000 in addition to the current examination fee.

The B.E. students who joined the course between 1998 and 2002 should pay a penalty of Rs.5,000 plus the prescribed current examination fee, the Controller said.

Students of autonomous colleges should pay the examination fee to the college and the penalty to the university.

Non-autonomous college students should pay both the penalty and examination fee to the MKU, the release said.

More details can be had from the Controller’s office on phone number: 0452-2459122.
