MUMBAI: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has drawn up a capital expenditure plan of around Rs. 1,400 crore for 2007-08 which includes around Rs. 850 crore for infrastructure and around Rs. 300 crore for technology. Addressing the shareholders at the company’s annual general meeting on Friday, S. Ramadorai, Chief Executive Officer, said the company was aiming to be among the top ten information technology companies globally by 2010. TCS at present employs around 89,000 IT consultants in 47 countries and according to Mr. Ramadorai, this number will touch one lakh in the current year. The company recently set up a Global Development Centre (GDC) in Mexico and will soon be setting up another GDC in Morocco. Among its customers, at least 320 of them use at least two or more of TCS’ services, he said.
