Golf
Coimbatore: A two-over 74 was sufficient for Delhi’s Raj Randhawa to go the top of the leaderboard at the end of the second day of the LG Coimbatore amateur golf championship, for the GKD Memorial Gold Cup, at the par-72 Coimbatore Golf Club course here on Wednesday. Randhawa, with a two day tally of five-over 149, snatched the lead from Gagan Verma, who slid to the fourth spot with a seven-over 79. Verma, the overnight leader, had a miserable day with five bogeys, two double bogeys and just two birdies. Best card
Even as Randhawa was busy trying to master the wind and the course, ONGC’s Vikram Rana carded the day’s best — a level par 72 to share the second spot with Moin Malak at 150. The scores (after 36 holes): Raj Randhawa (75, 74): 149; 2. Vikram Rana (78, 72) and . Moin Malak (74, 76): 150; Gagan Verma (72, 79): 151; Samaresh Sardar (75, 77) and Simarjeet Singh (73, 79): 152; Abhishek Jha (76, 77) and Mithun Perera (76, 77): 153; Jaibir Singh ( 80, 75), Raja (77, 78) and K. Prabagaran (76, 79): 155; H.S. Kang (81, 75), Lakhan Singh (81, 75), L Selvadurai (81, 75) and Rudresh Sharma (74, 82): 156. — Sports Reporter
