Power theft detected

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The anti-power theft squad of (KSEB) has unearthed power theft and other irregularities to the tune of Rs.2.35 crore during its inspections since April 1, the KSEB said in a release on Monday. Inspections conducted on the properties of 4,184 customers since then revealed 315 cases of power theft and 522 cases of other irregularities. Tampering of meters, using connection sanctioned for a particular purpose for another purpose, drawing higher loads of power supply than permitted were some of the irregularities. —Special Correspondent
