THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: With the monsoon easing off over the last couple of days, the State was fast returning to normalcy on Monday. As many as 141 relief camps housing more than 13,000 people were in operation in the State hit by sea erosion and flooding, according to an official release. Many of these camps are being disbanded and people are returning to their houses, an official at the Disaster Management Control Room said. Revenue Minister K.P. Rajendran said 59 persons have died in monsoon-related incidents in the State so far. No deaths were reported on Monday. He said that preliminary data indicated a loss of nearly Rs.100 crore through damage to crop and private and public properties. —Special Correspondent
