The exercise was held in a transparent manner
SALEM: A total of 304 teachers working in Government high and higher secondary schools were given transfer orders in the counselling sessions held in Salem and Namakkal districts on Saturday and Sunday. In Salem district, more than 500 teachers participated in the two-day counselling. A total of 142 teachers seeking transfer within the district were given transfer orders on Saturday. Of them, 86 were school assistants. On Sunday, education officials had given transfer orders to 48 teachers who sought transfer from other districts to Salem district. Chief Educational Officer S. Sethurama Varma conducted the counselling sessions. In Namakkal district, more than 350 teachers participated in the counselling sessions. On Saturday, 78 teachers seeking transfer within the district were given transfer orders. Of them, 34 were BT assistants, 10 secondary grade teachers, 10 physical education teachers, 4 special teachers and 20 postgraduate teachers. On Sunday, officials issued orders to 36 teachers seeking transfer from other districts to Namakkal district. Of them, 19 were BT assistants, 5 secondary grade teachers, one special teacher and 11 postgraduate teachers. District Education Officer T. Periyasamy conducted the sessions. Officials said that the exercise was held in a transparent manner.
