BANGALORE: Canara Bank snatched a narrow 15-run victory over Central Excise and set up a title clash with State Bank of Mysore in The Hindu Trophy limited over championship at the KSCA (Turf) grounds here on Wednesday. RWF defeated State Bank of Mysore by three wickets in the other semifinals. Canara Bank posted 204 for nine wickets in 30 overs with Bharath Chipli hammering 68 off 42 balls which included five fours and one six. C. Raghu chipped in with 52 (3x4, 2x6). Central Excise made a game chase with good knocks from K. Sachin (45) and Devaraj Patil (62), but failed to keep up the momentum in slog overs and ended up with 189. The other match was low scoring affair in which SBM crashed to 93 and RWF made a heavy weather of the target before winning by three wickets in 26.3 overs. The scores: SBM 93 in 29.2 overs lost to RWF 97 for seven in 26.3 overs Canara Bank 204 for nine in 30 overs (Bharath Chipli 68, C. Raghu 52) beat Central Excise 189 in 29.1 overs (K. Sachin 45, Devaraj T. Patil 62).
