Synopsys buys out ArchPro Design

BANGALORE: Synopsys Inc, the $1.1 billion (financial year 2006) global semiconductor design software company, announced here on Wednesday, the 100 per cent buyout of a start-up, ArchPro Design Automation Inc., promoted by technocrats of Indian origin. The takeover amount was not disclosed. Both companies carry out almost all of their R&D work in Bangalore and ArchPro has expertise in power management in chip architecture and related verification tools, used by most semi conductor makers and their user clients across the world.
