Hat-trick by Suri Babu

HYDERABAD: Centre-forward Suri Babu scored a hat-trick to help Andhra Pradesh Police score an emphatic 5-0 win over Income Tax in the A-1 division hockey league championship at the Begumpet Police Stadium here on Monday.

Suribabu gave AP Police a 2-0 lead in the first half and later completed his hat-trick after resumption. Wingers Mohd Mujeed and Nagendra were the other scorers in the second session.

The Hindu wins

Southpaw Md. Faiz Ahmed struck 91 to guide The Hindu to a seven-wicket win over HFFC ‘B’ in the Coronet Cup cricket tournament here.

The scores: HFFC ‘B’ 141 for six (Naveen Kumar 43) lost to The Hindu 143 for three (Md. Faiz Ahmed 91).

Locuz Info 138 for eight (Raj Kumar four for 24) lost to AEGIS BPO 139 for one (Amrit 50 not out, Harjeet Singh 58 not out).

Vineeth to lead

N.N.V. Vineeth of Ranga Reddy will lead Andhra Pradesh in the 24th Sub-junior National aquatic championship for boys and girls to be held in Goa from June 21 to 24.
