No change at the top of the table
Only one result on the top board

DINDIGUL: There is no change at the top. The five overnight leaders — M.R. Venkatesh, K. Ratnakaran, Sundararajan Kidambi, B. Adhiban and Prathamesh Mokal — have maintained their lead with 8.5 points each at the end of the 11th round of the 45th National ‘B’ chess championship at the PSNA College of Engineering and Technology here on Monday.

Only one of the top 10 boards produced a decisive result — so much like a National ‘B’. With two rounds remaining, Sriram Jha, R. Arun Karthik, S. Satyapragyan, Aditya Udeshi, Akshat Khamparia, Vidit Santosh Gujarathi, T.S. Ravi, R. Ashwath, B.S. Sivanandan, Shankar Roy, N. Sudhakar Babu, and Shashikant Kutwal are on eight points. On the second board, Kidambi and Adhiban played on for 40 moves in their Queen’s Indian game and reached an ending featuring opposite-coloured bishops before they agreed to split the point.
