India's Abhishek Verma emerged the compound bow individual champion in the boys' section of the second Asian junior archery championship at Chinese Taipei on Sunday. The Indian archery contingent in all won a gold medal, silver and a bronze in the individual championship. According to information received here, Delhi's Verma defeated Chan Pi Yak of Hong Kong by 109 points to104 in the final to take the gold medal at the Taiwan Archery Range. Another Indian Sumit Mishra won the bronze medal in compound section beating his teammate Sonam Pintso Lepcha by 107 to 105 points. V. Pranitha took the silver medal in the girls' recurve bow section. In the final she lost to Ying Chin Chen of Chinese Taipei by 100 to 105 points. The other Indian archer, Nisha Rani Dutta, who emerged on top in the two 70m qualifying rounds, was beaten by Pranitha in the semifinals, the scores being 91 to 88 points.
