South Korea posts second win

Glasgow: Three-time winner South Korea took a major stride towards the semifinals of the Sudirman Cup badminton championship on Tuesday after a 4-1 victory over Hong Kong to make it two wins out of two.

In the other Division 1 Group B encounter, Indonesia, which lost to South Korea on Monday, beat Denmark 4-1 to leave both sides with one win from the first two matches.

Denmark, which beat Hong Kong on the first day, now has to beat South Korea to have any chance of making the semifinals.

The results: Division 1 Group B: South Korea bt Hong Kong 4-1; Indonesia bt Denmark 4-1.

Monday's results: Division 1 Group A: China bt Thailand 5-0; England bt Malaysia 3-2.

Division 1 Group B: Denmark bt Hong Kong 3-2; South Korea bt Indonesia 3-2. — Agencies
