Woolmer died of natural causes: police

MONTEGO BAY (JAMAICA): Nearly three months after his mysterious death, the Jamaican police today said Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer died of natural causes and not murdered, bringing the curtains down on several ridiculous theories that marked the investigations.

Dismissing possibilities of match-fixing, Jamaica Constabulary Force commissioner Lucius Thomas said three foreign pathologists and toxicology tests had ruled out foul play in Woolmer's death on March 18, a day after his team's shock defeat to Ireland.

"The JCF accepts these findings and has now closed its investigation into the death of Bob Woolmer," Thomas told a news conference, claiming that the Jamaican police conducted a thoroughly professional investigations.

He said the second post-mortem revealed that there was neither poison nor intoxicants in Woolmer's body. — PTI
