Power shutdown

CHENNAI: Power supply will be suspended at Kodambakkam subdivision in areas such as Kodambakkam, Arcot Road, Sowrashtra Nagar, Rangarajapuram, Choolaimedu High Road, Ganga Nagar, Trustpuram and Vadapalani on Tuesday for maintenance work.

Free health camp

Around 320 persons were screened at a free health camp organised at Manimangalam by Hindu Mission Hospital, Tambaram on Sunday. A team of seven doctors from various medical specialities screened them for ENT, skin, dental and paediatric disorders. Twenty-four persons were referred to eye surgeries and six others to general surgeries.

IIT entrance exam

Nehru Children's Cultural Association is offering a foundation course for IIT entrance exam for Class IX to XI students from Saturday at P.S. Higher Secondary School, Mylapore. The last date for registration is June 15. Contact 94444 16484.

Asthma camp

About 140 persons attended a free asthma and allergy camp organised by South Chakra, a Hindi weekly magazine, at Jain Bhavan, Sowcarpet on Friday. Its Editor V.K.Agarwal participated.

Free training

The Rotary Club of Chennai Presidency and Nation Development Trust have jointly started a community and vocational service centre on NIIT premises, 27th Street, Korattur on Friday. The centre will impart free training in civil works such as electrical, carpentry and plumbing. For details, contact 2624 6543.
