MYSORE: Terming the reported statement of Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Mahadayi scheme during the recently concluded Goa election as "contempt of court", Minister for Water Resources K.S. Eshwarappa said here on Friday that the Government was consulting the Law Department on the possibilities of filing contempt case against her. He told presspersons that Ms. Sonia Gandhi's statement on Mahadayi scheme amounted to contempt of court as the matter was pending before the Supreme Court. He said that the statement did not augur well for a person of her calibre as she was aware that the issue was pending before Supreme Court. He said there was no question of stopping the work on Kalasa-Bandura Canal and it would continue in non-forest area of Khanapur taluk of Belgaum district.
