Ganjam to showcase its collection

MYSORE: For a brand that is synonymous with jewellery since 1889, it has been a homecoming of sorts for Ganjam, which is associated with the Mysore royalty since its inception.

Having mesmerised audience from Japan to Milan and from Basel to London, Ganjam will now showcase its exquisitely crafted jewellery in Mysore from June 16 to 18 at Hotel Regalis. For the new initiates, Ganjam's story goes back to 1889 when a youngster, Nagappa, hailing from the small town of Ganjam in Orissa struck it rich with his flair for crafting jewellery and a legend was born. Soon the royal family of Mysore patronised him.

Incidentally, the two share the mythical bird "Ganda Berunda" as their logo.

Over the next few decades, Ganjam continued to evolve and the jewellery exhibition at the Platinum Guild International in the Hall of Vision at the Basel International Watch and Jewellery Fair, Switzerland, was an acknowledgement of its reputation. Having made its mark in the international circuit and exhibited its wide range of jewellery, the royal city of Mysore will play host to Ganjam which will showcase its collections featuring the exquisitely crafted Haveli and Heritage collections, the contemporary Starbust and Worldline collections while the icing on the cake will be the recently launched Gerbera collection.

Gerbera is Ganjam's customised offering to the Indian customer reflecting global trends of warm, colourful jewellery inspired by nature. The exhibition will be open to public from 11 a.m. to 8.30 p.m.
