NEW DELHI: President A. P. J. Abdul Kalam has emphasised the need for identifying and popularising evidence-based herbal drugs that have already passed through various phases of clinical trials in the country.

Releasing C. P. Khare's ``Indian Medical Plants: An Illustrated Dictionary" here this past week, Dr. Kalam said the book was a good source of scientific information on Indian medicinal plants.
