BANGALORE: Vijay Madyalkar's 78 and left-arm spinner Anand Katti's five-wicket haul helped State Bank of Mysore (SBM) defeat HASC by 152 runs in a KSCA Group II first division league match here recently. SBM posted 320 for eight in 50 overs and bowled out HASC for 168 in 46.4 overs. The scores: SBM 320 for eight in 50 overs (Vijay Madalkyar 78, B.K. Kumar six for 80) bt HASC 168 in 46.4 overs (Anand Katti five for 57). RWF 200 in 38 overs (Shoaib Manager 68, B. Rajshekar five for 37) bt Canara Bank 169 in 34.3 overs (Raju Bhatkal 50, Prasanna Patil five for 35).
Yashaan scores double
Yashaan Kambatta of JM Farms scored a double on the second day of the Equest 2007 championship winning the Jumping Dressage Juniors and the Jumping Ride Your Line events at the Embassy International Riding School here on Thursday. Yashaan steered Authentic in the first event and was astride Tapatio in the last event of the day. The results: Jumping Dressage Juniors (riders names in brackets): 1. Sanjeev scalps five
Sanjeev Dey's 71 helped FCA defeat HMV CA by five wickets and win the Laabh Jewellers BPCA inter-academy tournament's under-17 section. The scores (finals): Under-17: HMV CA 220 for five in 30 overs (Dharmpal Reddy 63, Avinash Reddy 57) lost to FCA 225 for five in 28.5 overs (Sanjeev Dey 71, Nishanth Dave 42). Under-15: SJIHS 158 for seven in 30 overs (V. Vikas 44) bt FAPS 138 in 29.3 overs (Karun Nair 57). Under-13: FAPS 133 in 28.3 overs (Shravan Kumar four for 20) lost to Vijay Paul CA 136 for one in 20.2 overs (Vishal Jude Philips 64 n.o.). Under-11: BPCA 171 for four in 30 overs (Adhoksh 76, Sachin 49) bt FCA 112 in 27.5 overs (Bharath four for 19).
Virender stars
Host Karnataka Institute of Cricket (KIOC) emerged the champion in the Stanford sub-junior inter-academy cricket tournament here. In the final held recently, KIOC defeated Arshad Ayub Cricket Academy (AACA) by eight wickets. AACA scored 151 in 30 overs and KIOC reached the target in 24 overs, Virender chipping in with an unbeaten 77. The scores (final): AACA (Hyderabad) 151 in 30 overs (Shravan 69 n.o., Nitesh 44) lost to KIOC XI 153 for two in 24 overs (Virender 77 n.o.).
The Hindu Trophy
The Hindu Trophy limited overs (30 overs-a-side) cricket championship will get underway here from June 8. Leading State outfits including State Bank of Mysore, Vijaya Bank, HAL, BEML Canara Bank, Rail Wheel Factory, BEL, besides host The Hindu will be participating in the tournament.
