PUDUCHERRY: In the all-India entrance examination conducted for admission to the MBBS course in the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry, K. Sasank has obtained the first rank securing 164 marks out of 200. According to a press release here from JIPMER Dean K. S. Reddy, the examination was conducted on May 27 at six centres Puducherry, Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Kolkata and Thiruvananthapuram and a total of 18,429 candidates appeared. The second rank goes to Ayushi Chauhan who scored 163 marks and third to Nishant Gurnani with 162 marks. Under the open Scheduled Castes category, Parvendra Singh with 151 marks came first, Siddharth Tara with 151 marks second and Gour Surya Sri Krishna with 150 marks third. In the Open Scheduled Tribes category, Mohan Singh Meena with 146 marks was first, Vikas Meena with 144 marks second and Nitish Dev with 144 marks third. Among the candidates of Puducherry general category, W. Vijai secured 156 marks and came first. L. G. Vaitheeswaran also with 156 marks second and K. Swarup with 150 marks third. The elected candidates will be informed individually on the dates for personal appearance, medical fitness and admission. The result is also available on the JIPMER website www.jipmer.edu. The full marklist will be available from June 1 on the website.
