Ranchi:
A Special CBI court on Wednesday convicted 39 people of fraudulently withdrawing Rs. 7.21 crore from Ranchi treasury in the 1990s but acquitted three others, including a former treasury officer of the charges. Judge J.K.N. Tiwari sentenced 13 of them to three years' rigorous imprisonment and slapped fines ranging between Rs. 45,000 and Rs. 65,000.
The court would pronounce a sentence against the rest of them on Thursday.
The court acquitted three others, including former treasury officer K.N. Jha who is already serving a jail term after being convicted in five other cases in the multi-crore fodder scam.
