NEW DELHI: Pramod Bhatti (36) and Ashish Yadav (32 not out) held their nerves together to help Collage Sports Group beat the Food Corporation of India (FCI) by four wickets and qualify for the semifinals in the 34th all-India Goswami Ganesh Dutt memorial cricket tournament at the Sant Harchand Singh Longowal Sports Complex, Khalsa College, here on Thursday. Set a challenging target, Collage Group lost wickets at regular intervals but opener Praveen Kumar (42) and Ashish Sharma (73, 74b, 8 x 4) held out some hope. Towards the end, the responsibility fell on Bhatti and Yadav, who steered the team home. Earlier, put in to bat FCI's Ajmer Singh (89, 101b, 1 x 6, 8 x 4) and Anshul Lamba (91, 81b, 1 x 6, 8 x 4) hit all over the ground before quick dismissals held them back. Ali Murtaza and Yadav took two wickets each as Collage restricted FCI to 228 for seven.
The scores: Food Corporation of India 228 for seven in 40 overs (Ajmer Singh 89, Anshul Lamba 91) lost to Collage Sports Group 232 for six in 39 overs (Praveen Kumar 42, Ashish Sharma 73).
