Saimeera outwits Lakshmi Sahiti

HYDERABAD: Defending champion Saimeera Ravi of Bank Sports Board outwitted Asian under-16 champion P. Lakshmi Sahiti (AP), in just 18 moves, in the sixth round of the 34th National `B' women's chess championship here on Thursday.

In another sixth round game, top-seeded Padmini Rout and second-seeded Kiran Manisha Mohanty, both from Orissa, settled for a 29-move draw after most pieces were exchanged.

Ch. Divyasri of AP recorded a surprise win against M. Rajadarshini (TN) as she came up with some forceful moves in the ending to clinch the issue.
