Letters to the Editor
Of late, the people are becoming increasingly intolerant. What else can explain the sporadic violence that broke out after the bomb blast at the mosque? Why, instead of helping those injured in the blast, did some youth deem it fit to fight with the police and damage public property? Could they find no other way to protest?
B.C. Unnikrishnan Nair,
While the bomb explosion in the mosque is reprehensible, the senseless violence that followed also deserves to be condemned. There is no point in attacking the police or the common people and destroying private and public property.
H.P. Murali,
Friday's blast was undoubtedly aimed at targeting innocent people to disrupt peace and harmony. It should be condemned in the strongest terms. Equally unfortunate was the aftermath involving the police and an angry mob. A country of a billion people has been under constant threat for a long time now, losing a large number of people to acts of terror. Yet, it lacks the wherewithal to prevent blasts in public places.
P. Senthil Saravana Durai,
