PET Engineering College


PET Engineering College sponsored by Popular Educational Trust, a registered charitable Trust, was established in the year 1998 in sylvan surroundings in a sprawling campus of over 57 acres on the Vallioor - Tiruchendur Road, about 3km from Vallioor.

Growing under the protective shade of the managing trustees mostly NRIs residing in Gulf countries, the college has made tremendous progress and has emerged as a modern centre for imparting quality technical education.

The managing committee consisting of distinguished academics including Prof. P.O.J. Lebba, Dr. S. K. Pillai, Professor Emeritus and former Professor of IIT, Mumbai and Prof. Ahamed Kutty, well known veterans in the field of Technical Education, together with a dedicated group of philanthropists have transformed their life into a saga of selfless service to provide education to students belonging particularly to the minority as well as economically downtrodden communities.

The administration is governed by Mr. N. Haja Mohideen, Correspondent and Prof. S.Abubucker, the Principal of the college. All the required facilities such as buildings, laboratories, workshop, machines, equipment and tools, library, Computers and Software's, Hostels, Playgrounds, Gym etc., are provided to facilitate the learning process, to keep up and improve physical fitness and to enable the students acquire the competence and proficiency needed to face the competitive word.

With a view to ensure employability of our students while passing out of our college, special training programmes are organized by expert trainers, entrepreneurs and alumni.

The students are given rigorous training to improve the soft skills, personality, confidence and self esteem to enable them to face the challenges in the highly competitive field.

To equip the students with skills of international standard in networking a networking lab is being established with the participation of CISCO, the world leader in networking. Special coaching classes are organized to help weaker students to cope with difficult subjects.

Language Lab:

English is an indisputable international language, used world wide in business communication. Globalization and the advent of information Technology added importance to proficiency and fluency in English. Only those who have good mastery and fluency over the language are able to get lucrative assignments in MNCs.

The Management has realized this and set up an English Language lab since the very inception of this college.

In addition to that, certification by the Cambridge University through the British Council in co-operation with Director of Technical Education, Chennai is also in place.

Discipline is given utmost importance and excellent behaviour is expected from each and every student to achieve excellence in technical education.

It is Popular Educational Trust's vision to reach out and impart technical education of International standards to the youth of our nation with stress on moral and social values enabling them to confidently face the challenges of the future.
