Double for Abdullah

HYDERABAD: S.M. Abdullah bagged a double winning the singles and doubles titles in the boys under-12 and 14 singles titles in the Kedia's All India Talent Series tennis tournament which concluded at SAAP Tennis Complex here on Friday.

The results (all finals):

Boys: Under-10: S.K.Mukund bt S.M.Osama 4-1, 4-0. Under-12: S.M. Abdullah bt Rishabh Agarwal 6-4, 6-4. Under-14: S.M. Abdullah bt Ronak Jhowar 6-3, 6-4. Doubles: B. Supreeth / Rohit Sarwate bt Ronak Jhowar/Rishabh Agarwal 4-2, 4-1.

Girls: Under-10: P. Sudheera bt Pranjala 4-2, 4-2. Under-12: G. Urmila bt A. Mrinalini 6-4, 0-6, 6-4. Under-14: A. Mrinalini bt G. Urmila 6-4, 6-4. Doubles: G. Urmila/A. Mrinalini bt D. Venela/Ruthuja Bhosle 4-2, 4-1.

Radhakrishnan through

National champion B. Radhakrishnan of Tamil Nadu entered the men's singles semifinals with a 20-25, 25-11, 25-3 win against K. Sahaya Bharati in the quarterfinal of the Southern India invitation carrom championship at PR Club (Gudur), according to information received here.

In another quarterfinal, B. Kubendra Babu (TN) defeated G. Shiva (Karnataka) 25-4, 25-5.

Narrow win for HSBC

HSBC recorded a narrow win against Wells Fargo in the Maytas Properties corporate cup first-ever indoor cricket tournament at HICC (Madhapur) here.

Guntur to host

Guntur will play host to Andhra Pradesh junior men, women and youth athletic championship for combined events and jumps on May 19 and 20. The trials to select Krishna District team will be held on May 11 at Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation Stadium.
