MUMBAI: Rohit Bisht clawed his way out of trouble to post a 1-6, 7-5, 6-2 win over Samip Mehta in the boys under-16 singles final of the DHFL & IOC all-India series junior tennis tournament at the Practennis courts on Saturday. Bisht, a student of Amity International School and trainee at the Shanti Sports Club, is looking to grab more opportunities at the international level during the forthcoming Euro Tour with the Asian under-16 squad. Top seed Shweta Rana overcame Sharon Paul 6-3, 6-4 for the girls under-14 singles title, while Rashmi Teltumbde stopped wildcard Carol Augustine's run in the senior girls final. The results (all finals): Boys: U-16 singles: Rohit Bisht (Del) bt Samip Mehta (Guj) 1-6, 7-5, 6-2. U-14 singles: Rohit Bisht (Del) bt Digvijay Singh (HP) 6-4, 6-2. Girls: U-16 singles: Rashmi Teltumbde (Mah) bt Carol Augustine (Del) 6-3, 6-4. U-14 singles: Shweta Rana (Del) bt Sharon Paul (TN) 6-3, 6-4. U-16 doubles: Garima Vatwani (Del)/ Shivani Singh (AP) bt Treta Bhattacharya (Ben)/ Shweta Rana (Del) 7-5, 6-2. U-14 doubles: Sansitha Nandakumar (TN)/ Natasha Palha (Goa) bt Teertha Iska/ Bhavana Suresh (both AP) 6-0, 6-2.
