Sri Lankan team to return home via India

COLOMBO: The Sri Lankan cricket team which lost the World Cup final recently,

will return home through India, official sources said on Tuesday.

It was stranded in London as Emirates flights to Colombo were cancelled in the wake of Sunday's LTTE bombing raid. The players were due to travel home via Dubai.

Emirates and Hong Kong's Cathay Pacific indefinitely suspended flights to Sri Lanka after the air raids.

The rebels used two light aircraft to bomb two fuel depots near Colombo and they crossed the international flight paths during their bombing mission. — PTI
