Varanasi: Under fire from the Opposition BJP on raising of anti-India slogans and display of Lashkar-e-Toiba's (LeT) flags at a public meeting in Srinagar, Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil said on Sunday that the Government will reply on the issue in Parliament. "The Government will respond to the issue in Parliament during the ongoing session," he said in reply to a volley of questions seeking the Centre's stand on the issue. Mr. Patil hinted at the Government's displeasure over the incident by saying, "Who can support the incident?" The Union Home Minister, however, maintained that the terrorist and subversive activities in strife-torn Jammu and Kashmir has come down owing to a series of steps taken by the Centre and State Governments for the economic development of the State. Apart from sanction of the Rs. 26,000-crore package for economic development, several rounds of round-table conferences have been convened by the Centre with the representatives of various political parties.
