Golf
Shanghai: Gaurav Ghei carded a five-over 77 to finish 58th in the BMW Asian Open golf tournament here on Sunday. In wet and windy conditions, Ghei totalled seven-over 295. He began with bogeys on the second and third holes, and slumped to three-over with another bogey on the eighth. On the back nine, he dropped two more shots on the 12th and 17th to end with a 77. Frenchman Raphael Jacquelin won the title by two strokes. Jacquelin, who held the lead from the first day, fired a one-over-par 73 to finish with 10-under-par 278. Dane Soren Kjeldsen was second. ``It's a fantastic moment. It's difficult to take the lead in the first round and keep it till the last. It was more difficult in the last four or five holes,'' said a beaming Jacquelin. ``I am really happy. It is my second win so it is not a surprise any more,'' he added.
Chopra slips
At Avondale (U.S.), a horrendous front nine saw Daniel Chopra card a three-over 75 and slip to the 36th spot after the third round of Zurich Classic golf on Saturday. Nick Watney, playing only his third season on the PGA Tour, shot a four-under 68 on the third day to reach 12-under and took a two-shot lead over Ken Duke, another player who has been seeking a maiden Tour triumph for more than a decade.
