Mahima, Deepali in title clash

Bangalore: Mahima Agarwal and Deepali Karumbaiah will clash in the girls' under-10 final of the Mehul Sirur Memorial badminton tournament here on Tuesday.

In their respective semifinal matches at the Canara Union Courts on Monday, Mahima defeated Apeksha Nayak 21-6, 21-3, while Deepali beat Anisha Krishna 21-2, 21-3.

The results:

Semifinals: Boys': Under-10: Singles: Mithun Manjunath bt Ajay 21-4, 21-3; Naveen bt Raghu 21-10, 21-15. Doubles: Nirmit/ Vignesh bt Abhay/ Vineet 21-8, 21-9; Mithun/ Raghu bt Prajwal/ Naveen 21-6, 21-4.

Girls': U-10: Singles: Mahima Agarwal bt Apeksha Nayak 21-6, 21-3; Deepali Karumbaiah bt Anisha Krishna 21-2, 21-3.

Vishnu hits hundred

Vishnu Gowda's 104 set the base for JSSATE's 37-run victory over GVIT in a Dr. M.V. Jayaraman memorial inter-engineering colleges' cricket tournament match here on Monday.

The scores: JSSATE 202 for four in 30 overs (Vishnu Gowda 104) bt GVIT 165 in 28.1 overs (Santhosh 48); NHCE 180 for nine in 30 overs (Darshan 45, Pawan 42) bt KSIT 165 in 26.5 overs (Swamy 45).

Coaching camp

SPT Sports will hold a three-week camp for children in the five-15 age group in football and golf. Tom Legg, a FA (UK) certified coach, will supervise the football training and USGTF-certified instructor Ranjit Namjoshi will conduct the golf camp. Admission to

sports hostel

Alva's Education Foundation, Moodbidri, has invited applications from sportspersons across Karnataka for admission into the sports hostel managed by it.

Admission is open to sportspersons interested in athletics, weightlifting and other team sports.

Athletes desirous of gaining admission to primary, high school, pre-University and degree colleges administered by the foundation should send in their applications to Dr. Alva, Alva's Education Foundation, Moodbidri. The selected athletes will be provided free education, boarding and lodging.

Tennis tournament

Kensri School will conduct under-14 Futures tennis tournament for boys and girls at the school courts from April 20. Entries close on April 19 and for details, call Kensri School, Ph: 65604705.

Athletics championship

The 28th National veterans athletics championship will be conducted by the Karnataka Masters Athletic Association in Bangalore from June 8 to 10. Events will be held for men and women aged between 35 and 75.
