IOB (Tirunelveli) retains first division title

Tirunelveli: Indian Overseas Bank (Tirunelveli) retained the TDCA first division league title defeating India Cements Recreation Club `A' by 32-runs in the last match at ICRC Turf ground, Sankarnagar on Saturday. IOB topped the table with 16 points, while Double Star Cricket Club `A' finished runner-up with 12 points. ICRC `A' finished third with 10 points.

ICRC `B' triumphs

ICRC `B' won the second division league title defeating Melapalayam Educational Trust (MET) Cricket Club by 24-runs in the inter-zonal final.

Mr. K.S. Viswanathan, Assistant secretary, TNCA gave away the prizesin the presence of Mr. S. Nandakumar, Vice-President (Mfg), India Cements Ltd.

The scores (First division): IOB 185 in 35 overs (Senthil 76) bt ICRC `A' 153 in 35 overs (Nataraj Shankar 76).

Second division: ICRC `B' 140 in 29.5 overs (Marimuthu 49) bt MET CC 116 in 26 overs.

Special Awards (First division): batsman: Pradesh (Majestic CC); bowler: Ravishankar (ICRC `A'); all-rounder: Vijaya Raja (Double Star CC `A').

Second division: batsman: Amesh (ICRC `B'); bowler: Anburaj (ICRC `B'); all-rounder: Yoganathan (King Dharmar CC).

The scores (First division): I.O.B. 185 in 35 overs (Senthil 76) bt ICRC `A' 153 in 35 overs (Nataraj Shankar 76).

Football camp

Dindigul District Football Association will be organising a three-week long summer football coaching camp for under-13 players at Dindigul from April 22.
