Narayanan shines

Karaikudi: An all-round performance by Narayanan (64 and five for 20) helped AP Tech Cricket Club carve out a 57-run win over Sachin Brothers CC in the Sivagangai DCA `A' division league here recently.

The scores (`A' division): AP Tech CC 225 in 38.1 overs (Narayanan 64, Thirunavukkarasu five for 37, Varadharajan four for 41) bt Sachin Brothers CC 168 in 28.5 overs (Narayanan five for 20).

Alagappa Chettiar College of Engg and Technology 206 in 41 overs (Arul Prakasam 42, Senthilnathan 39) lost to Vanchi CC 208 for seven in 45 overs.

`B' division: Gangai Brothers CC 96 in 17.5 overs lost to Sekkalai CC 97 for one in 8.1 overs (Chandramohan 52 not out); Optra Computers CC 159 in 30.5 overs lost to Rohini CC 163 for four in 28.4 overs.

Senshare CC 120 in 22.5 overs lost to Sekkalai CC 121 for two in 11.3 overs (Chandramohan 44 not out).

TVS CC posts win

Noorul Riaz's 73 helped TVS Cricket Club defeat Pykara CC by 28 runs in the MDCA first division `A' zone league at Madurai recently.

The scores (First division `A' zone): TVS CC 167 in 42 overs (Noorul Riaz 73, Prakash four for 38) bt Pykara CC 139 in 37 overs (D. Jaishankar four for 32).

Third division: Majestic Toddlers CC 165 in 27 overs (Anand 40, Robin 46) bt TVS Interconnect CC 136 in 24 overs.

Gold Star scores win

Gold Star Football Club, Karuviapatti, posted a 2-0 victory over Friends FC, Kandanur, in the Sivagangai DFA `B' division league at AUCPE ground, Karaikudi, on Friday. Solaimalai and Natesan scored.
