KSC trials from April 16

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Trials to select trainees for the Sports Hostels run by Kerala Sports Council (KSC) for the next academic year will be held at various centres from April 16 to 21. Interested sportspersons should report at the venue along with documents supporting their age, sporting excellence and educational qualifications.

For those seeking admission to colleges, the cut off date is January 1, 1988, and for plus one and technical education students, the cut off date is January 1, 1990. Details can be had from the KSC, Ph: 0471-2330167 or from the respective district sports councils.

The schedule: April 16: Police Ground, Kannur; athletics, basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, handball, fencing, wrestling, taekwondo, boxing, cycling (girls') and football (boys').

April 17: St. Joseph's College, Devagiri; athletics, basketball, volleyball, taekwondo, football (boys').

April 18: Municipal Stadium, Thrissur; athletics, basketball, volleyball, handball, swimming, judo, boxing, weightlifting (boys') and football (girls').

April 19: Water Sports Centre, Alappuzha; rowing, canoeing, kayaking.

April 20: Municipal Stadium, Kottayam; athletics, basketball, volleyball, wrestling, boxing, cycling (girls') and football (boys').

April 21: Central Stadium; athletics, basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, handball, fencing, wrestling, taekwondo, swimming, cycling (girls') and football (boys').
