Man beaten to death

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: A 50-year-old man, who allegedly criminally assaulted the five-year-old daughter of his landlord at Nithari in neighbouring Noida was lynched by locals on Tuesday. The girl has been admitted to Kailash Hospital.

The girl, along with some other children, was playing outside her house around 1-30 p.m., when Arjun, an ice-cream vendor who had been living in a room rented out by her father, took her alone on the pretext of giving her an ice-cream. He then allegedly criminally assaulted her. Hearing her screams, the girl's uncle raised an alarm, at which Arjun tried to flee. But locals caught him and beat him up.
