VIJAYAWADA: Sehwag Soup, Sour Uthappa soup, Sachin Pulao, Ganguly biryani and Dhoni fish.

These were some of the famous Indian cricketers' name given to various lip-smacking dishes cooked and served to the delegates by Siddhartha Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, in tribute to Indian cricket team at West Indies for the coming World Cup.

The management selected a theme - Jeet Ka Safar (The journey of victory) as the theme dinner, keeping the present cricket fever in mind. Says college principal Pankaj Kumar Panday: "This is our way of cheering our "Men in Blue" at the West Indies.

The restaurant was made up like the players' dressing room and the dishes were named after cricketers according to their nature of the game."

Names like "Irfan Halwa Pathan", "Ajit Agarkar Makhani", and "Yuvraj Kalia" brought wide grins on the faces of the delegates.

    Dire need

The students also recreated a lush green cricket ground with the help of various hues of rangoli and the salt display - fight to the finish - enhanced the creativity among the die-hard cricket fans.

    T. Swetha, the only girl student among the 20-odd second year students, said that the Indian cricketers were in dire need of a strong support to complete the unfinished task in the previous World Cup held in 2003 in which India lost to Australia in the final. Says Tejendar, a student: " Every Indian across the length and breadth of our country has his or her own strategies to inspire our team.

We, Siddharthaians, believe that our boys will win the World Cup in style. Three cheers to Dravid army."

Siddhartha Academy vice - president Nalluri Venkateswaralu visited the festival along with other academy members.
