CHENNAI : On the penultimate day of the Chennai-Sangamam festival on Saturday, the public will be treated to a number of events, including musical recitation of Devaram and a seminar on the trends in art and literature in mass media. Folk dances and musical performances in parks and the beaches of Marina and Besant Nagar will form part of the event. Bhavatharini Anantharaman will present Devaram at the South Indian Film Chamber auditorium in the morning.
Poetry seminar
Later, orator Suki Sivam will participate in a seminar on `Trends in mass media - are they worrisome?' at the same venue. In the evening a poetry seminar will be held there. At Nageswara Rao Park in Mylapore, Natesan Park in T. Nagar, Tower Park in Anna Nagar, Sivan Park in K.K. Nagar, Anna Park in Royapuram, the park in Kotturpuram and YMCA grounds in Nandanam folk dances will be held. N. Dear foundation will hold a story-telling session for children at Natesan Park, Tower Park and Sivan Park. At The Park hotel in Gemini, a folk dance from Andhra Pradesh will be presented at 6 p.m. At Mylapore a drama on Valli's wedding will be staged at 8 p.m. At Sivan Park `Pavunukunju', a drama by Pralayan will be staged at 7 p.m.
