Golconda Hotel posts win
Golconda Hotel recorded a one-wicket win against Taj Deccan in the Inter-hotels cricket tournament here. The scores: Taj Deccan 146 for five lost to Golconda 147 for nine in 19 overs. Minerva Grand 127 for nine (Srinu 79) bt Taj Krishna 94.

Sampath named Chairman
G.M. Sampath Kumar, general secretary of AP Basketball Association, has been named as Chairman of the technical commission of the Basketball Federation of India, according to a press release here.
Shuttlers feted
National champions B. Chetan Anand (singles) and doubles pair of Jwala Gutta and Shruthi Kurien who won the titles in the last senior Nationals in Patna were felicitated by Global Sports & Cultural Association at Fateh Maidan Indoor Stadium here on Friday. Mukesh Goud, MLA, presented mementoes to the champion shuttlers and said: "We sincerely hope that with the required commitment and dedication you will win a medal in the next year's Beijing Olympics," he said, amidst applause.
