Letters to the Editor
The Tamil Nadu Government's decision to make the wearing of crash helmets compulsory for two-wheeler riders is welcome in the larger interest of society. Whenever the issue surfaces, there is a debate on whether or not to wear helmets. It has been proved that wearing a helmet reduces the possibility of fatal injury and can be life-saving. Why then should there be any hesitation to implement the rule? That it may cause a little inconvenience to the riders in the beginning should not matter.
