House burgled

BANGALORE: Burglars struck at a house in Yelahanka police station limits on Friday and made away with gold ornaments and silver articles, together worth Rs. 5 lakh.

The theft took place at the Judicial Layout house of Lakshmaiah, a retired employee of the Judicial Department. The thieves entered the house by breaking open the main door when Lakshmaiah and his family members had been to Magadi. The Yelahanka police have registered a case.

Suicide

Depressed by the recent death of her only son, Honnamma (46) committed suicide by hanging herself at her house in Byatarayanapura police station limits Friday.

Honnamma was the wife of Hanumantharayappa, a labourer and resident of Timber Yard Layout on Mysore Road.

The Byatarayanapura police have registered a case.
