Air-conditioned houseboat to be launched

ALAPPUZHA: Chairman of Hotel Leela Venture Ltd. C.P. Krishnan Nair will launch an air-conditioned conference houseboat of Pulikkattil group at a function here on February 19, Tomy Pulikkattil, managing director of Pulikkattil group, said.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr. ulikkattil said the conference hall of the boat has capacity to seat 150 persons. The houseboat will have three bedrooms and a state-of-the-art kitchen, he said.

Mr. Nair will also participate in a discussion to be held at the conference hall of the boat with leading personalities in various sectors.

G.P Nair, adviser of Pulikkattil group, said the houseboat industry had registered tremendous growth. At present,

around 350 houseboats operate from Alappuzha.

Alappuzha MLA K.C. Venugopal will preside over the function. Alappuzha district panchayat president R. Nazar; municipal chairman P.P. Chitharanjan; Tourism director Sanjay Kaul; District Collector K.R. Viswambharan; Alappuzha district superintendent of police E.J. Jayaraj; managing director of Kerala

Travels K.C. Chandrahasan; and chairman of Air Travel Enterprises E.M. Najeeb will participate in the inaugural function..
