Arms recovered from militant hideouts

Jammu: Security forces have recovered arms and explosives, including four under-barrel grenade launchers from two militant hideouts in the Doda and Poonch districts, official sources said here on Friday. During search operations, security forces came across a hideout at Bakriwala Nala in the Surankote tehsil of Poonch district on Thursday night and recovered a cache of arms and explosives. The recoveries included four under-barrel grenade launchers, two remote control IED boxes and some ammunition. Another hideout was unearthed at Nahla, 10 km southwest of Banihal, in the Doda district.

Three teenaged boys were on Friday injured in a blast at Morha Bachai in the Poonch district. The boys were fiddling with a ball-type object they had picked up from a road when this happened around 1:10 p.m., police sources here said. The boys were taken to the Surankote sub-district hospital. — PTI
