GUWAHATI: Putting behind the disappointment of losing to Tamil Nadu in the semifinals of the men's football competition of the 33rd National Games, Meghalaya on Friday picked up the bronze medal beating Bengal 1-0. Lal Dingliana's first half injury time goal proved to be the match-winner. There was some cheer for the Bengal camp as its women's team won the bronze medal beating Goa by the odd goal in three. Down by a 29th minute goal by Sharon Fernandes, Bengal bounced back to score twice through Shilpi Deb (48th) and Sharmila Sapui (61st) to sew up the match. Orissa will take on Manipur in the women's final while Assam will meet Tamil Nadu in the men's gold medal clash on Saturday. Special Correspondent
