SEEKING SOLUTION: Bharatiya Janata Party activists stage a demonstration against rise in prices of essential commodities in New Delhi on Friday.
NEW DELHI:
The police detained Bharatiya Janata Party leader Vijay Goel during a protest march against price rise here on Friday. Accompanied by a large number of party workers, Mr. Goel began his march from Chandni Chowk towards Connaught Place. They were stopped near the Red Fort and detained.
Earlier addressing them, Mr. Goel ridiculed the Congress for calling itself the party of the common man for, the poor and weaker sections were the worst affected by the price spiral.
The prices of foodgrains, pulses, milk, fruits, vegetables and sugar registered a sharp increase and the Congress-led Governments at the Centre and in Delhi failed to arrest the trend.
